Please vote for the closest to your favorite setting; if the campaign was based on one of these, vote for that one and then post a description of the setting.

The thought of the ability to shift between different planes of existence and the differences in times really helped me get hooked on this campaign. The original campaign that Aeos and I played through began as a Living Greyhawk Campaign, but through our immersion into the computer game that came out one year later, Planescape: Torment, our gaming changed forever. Immediately we jumped from carefully thought dungeons and traps to one that establishes a connection to our emotions. Also, actions on behalf of both of us changed because of the emphasis on levels of morality. (Please buy Planescape: Torment! It is the best rpg I have ever witnessed on the computer.)

You shameless promoter I'd have to agree with the uniqueness of Planescape. Its such a wide based thing; Planescape is what I would call the basis for every game I've created thereafter. Planescape is the glue that sticks ALL other campaign settings together. I admire that. Much of Aeos is based in planscape, as little as I'd like to admit.

I'd have to say that my current favorite campaign setting would have to be the Eberron campaign. I haven't really been exposed to much, but I do have to say it's a great world. I love the mingling of technology and magic, and the deep story that the creators made for the world, and the lots of ideas that a DM can come up with using it. I just wish I could play in this setting instead of just running it. Oh well

I was about to close this thread, but I decided to keep it open on the off chance that more people might vote.

I'd have to say, like Volk and his experience, my favorite setting thus far had to have been the homebrew Arc came up with the summer after 7th grade (has it been that long?!?). It hooked me onto what was then second edition (AD&D bitches!) and sorta set my gaming preferences - the focus, again, was not on specific dice rolls, although I will admit the dungeons were subtle, but on the plot line and player involvement. I still use the names of my two PCs almsot exclusively as default fantasy character names for video games.

Even though it hasn't been played at all here, I'd have to say the adaptation of Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series would have to be my favorite. I love that setting, I would actually like to save for the book... But... Well... Yeah...
