Check out the Fundamental Principles of Reality: Diagram of the Natural Forces: students.uwsp.edu/jbush160/forces.pdf
I'd like to keep the creation ofthe mulitverse as simple as possible, and for that, I'm going to intoduce a new concept. The difference between Law and Pattern. What you're thinking of, Seraphine, is Pattern. Pattern is a Higher Type of force than Law. Pattern is the force fom which Law and Chaos both stem from. Also, Good and Evil stem ftom a similar fourth Tier Force called Meaning. At this "level of energy" or time in the creation of the muliverse, these forces had not yet deliniated differences between one another because the force of Duality (the idea of there being two sides of the coin) had not gained control over the others. All forces of equal Type are equal Power. Hence, I can explain your Chaos/Law theory of the creation of the univers in very general terms: The beginning was Nothing and Everything, a big misgmash Beyond. There WAS no Yes or No, no Law or Chaos, it simply was. But When Aeos showed up, they balance of ideas shifted. Now, Aeos was an idea made of more than one thing than another and this changed the balance of the entire universe. Before even Meaning and Matter were seperate ideas, they were simply creation. Ever expanding, boundless Creation. As Aeos made Thoughts and Concepts of his own, he created more, lowering the total energy per area of the universe. The Forces Meaning and Matter "congeal" around this point and He begins to play with those, but remind yourself, neither has ANY distinction between Fire or Water, or Law and Chaos. This is hard for humans to imagine, but not impossible. If a human being were to look upon Pure Matter of to observe Pure Meaning, it would be like seeing everything in the Multiverse at the same time, or coming to know All that Is. Humans are simply not equipped for this, including most Human born Gods. Lesser beings therefore need more rules, because their conciousness cannot accomadate such gargantuan ideas.
So in short, there WAS no chaos or law in the beginning of the universe, or rather more properly, there was a Perfect Mix of it in every part of the early Multiverse, and only when energy levels had cooled to the point that lesser beings had been created and needed to understand, or the higher Tier gods wished to play with more precise toys, did ideas like Law and Positive and Air seperate themselves from their opposites.
